What Hugo Lloris did in the dressing room after PSV red card

There were no reasons for Hugo Lloris to apologise to his teammates after his red card against PSV Eindhoven, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Spurs goalkeeper was dismissed for a 78th-minute foul on Hirving Lozano after he came marauding out of his penalty area to clatter the PSV player and in turn leave our Champions League hopes in tatters.

Lloris has hardly covered himself in glory in this season’s Champions League campaign having made a huge mistake early on against Barcelona which gifted the Catalan giants the lead at Wembley.

The reality is that Spurs only have one point from their opening three Group B matches, which has left them with a huge task to qualify for the knockout stages of the prestigious European competition.

Pochettino was quoted by the Metro as saying the following when asked if Lloris had said sorry to his fellow players: ‘No, why?’

‘He doesn’t need to apologise. Football is about making mistakes.

‘It was an action in football that happens often and of course sometimes that happens.’
