What Jose Mourinho told Spurs squad they need in order to win the FA Cup

For those who are not looking for ‘All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur’ spoilers from the upcoming episodes of the Amazon documentary, look away now.

Amazon Prime Video released the latest three episodes of their ‘All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur’ documentary late last night, with plenty of more intriguing insights on show.

Early on in episode four, Mourinho can be seen giving his players a team talk regarding the upcoming FA Cup fixture against Middlesbrough and beyond.

Spurs have not won a major trophy since 2008 when the likes of Ledley King and Dimitar Berbatov lifted the Carling Cup in a final against Chelsea.

Throughout the history of Tottenham Hotspur, the club have made nine FA Cup finals and won eight, with only Arsenal and Man United winning more (Wikipedia).

Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, has been a serial winner wherever he has gone in his career, winning trophies with Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Man United.

Despite the fact that Tottenham eventually crashed out of the FA Cup on penalties against Norwich City last season, Mourinho’s team talk is a clear statement of intent for the future, as he looks to end the club’s trophy drought.

The Special One told his players before the Middlesbrough clash (All or Nothing – Episode 4 – 1 minute): “The first question is, how many of you have won the FA Cup? And I know the answer. You all want to win the FA Cup, the next point is what are you ready to do to win the FA Cup? To win the FA Cup, you need a lot and to win against these teams is not easy. They are coming aggressive, for sure they are coming for the game of their lives, they are going to kick you, they are going to bang you. We need to take this game very serious or we are f**ked. We are out.”
