Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his delight at Tottenham Hotspur’s announcement on Friday regarding the new stadium.
The club revealed that they are to hold a “familiarisation event” at their 62,062 seater stadium, with 6,000 fans getting to see inside the ground for the very first time on December 16th.
Spurs season ticket holders can enter a ballot for tickets, which will cost £1 each – a charge the club say is to help them test their new ticketing systems.
It will be the first test event involving fans and takes place a day after Spurs face Burnley at Wembley in the Premier League.
Tottenham will still need to hold two further test events in order to be awarded a safety licence to operate the stadium at full capacity.
The original plan before the official opening against Liverpool on September 15th had to be cancelled was to host an Under-23s game and a legends game against Bayern Munich in the build-up to the opening date.
He told Football.London: “It makes me feel very, very happy because it makes me feel we are close to competing there. I think it’s an important thing for the fans, for the club, to start to show our new home and it makes me very, very excited.”
