Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leanardo has called for Mauricio Pochettino’s critics to give him time amidst reports linking the Argentine with a return to the Premier League.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming under pressure at Manchester United due to their recent struggles, it was reported last week that the Red Devils were eyeing a move for Pochettino.
The Daily Star have even claimed that the Argentine was United’s number one target ahead of Antonio Conte, with Sir Alex Ferguson thought to be a fan of the PSG boss.
According to The Evening Standard, it was not just United who have their eyes on Pochettino but the 49-year-old was also ‘coveted’ by Spurs.
However, it now looks as though Conte could be heading to Tottenham after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked this morning, while Solskajer may have rescued his job for the time being with a 3-0 win over the Lilywhites.
Leanardo voiced his support for Pochettino earlier this week, labelling the former Tottenham boss’ critics as too harsh.
The PSG sporting director told Le Parisien journalist Benjamin Quarez (as translated by Fabrizio Romano): “On the coach, critics are too much.
“We are looking, everyone is looking… but Mauricio Pochettino before he came was top-five and now nothing? Everyone needs time.”

It is difficult to imagine the Ligue 1 giants sacking him at the moment, with the Parisians sitting ten points clear at the top of the table in the league and also topping their Champions League group.
