Tottenham Hotspur beat Bayern Munich on penalties to become the Champions of the 2019 edition of the Audi Cup.
The Lilywhites raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of strikes by Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen in each half, only for the hosts to level the game with a quickfire double.
As the match went to a penalty shootout, it was Tottenham’s youngsters who held their nerve as everyone apart from Christian Eriksen converted their spot-kicks.
The shootout eventually went into sudden death before Paulo Gazzaniga saved Jerome Boetang’s penalty to hand Spurs the trophy.
Spurs fans have had to take a lot of flak from opposition fans over the years for their lack of silverware in recent times, so they certainly savoured the moment that the squad lifted the Audi Cup.
Some Spurs fans reacted quite humorously on social media to the video of the players lifting the trophy.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is great to see Spurs fans seeing the funny side of the whole ‘lack of trophies’ jibe that opposition fans like to make. We at Spurs Web believe that getting to the finals of the Champions League last season will give the players the belief to push on and go that final step.
