With six games left to play in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur need ten points if they are to reach that magic 40-point total and avoid relegation. We have now identified the fixtures they could target as they look to get wins on the board.
Several Tottenham Hotspur fans believe that their club is set to play Championship football next season, given the injuries they have to contend with.
However, it is not just injuries that are the worry for Spurs, with results on the pitch the biggest concern for the Lilywhites at the moment.
Tottenham are yet to win a game in 2026 and have now seen their 12-point cushion over 18th place completely disappear – one they held in matchday 19.
West Ham United’s improved form since the turn of the year has allowed them to close the gap, overtake Spurs, and open up a two-point buffer, leaving Tottenham in the relegation zone.

Tottenham wins needed to reach 40 points in Premier League survival bid
At the moment, Spurs’ fate is no longer entirely in their own hands as they battle to retain their Premier League status. They will need results elsewhere to go their way if they are to climb out of the relegation zone with six games remaining.
However, Tottenham must start putting wins on the board. With just 30 points from 32 matches, they likely need nine or ten more points to give themselves a good chance of survival. That means Spurs need to win half of their remaining games, despite only winning twice in the last 22.
In previous seasons, 30 points has often been enough, but given how competitive the relegation battle is this term, Spurs may need to push closer to the 40-mark to avoid the drop.

Spurs face uphill task to hit safety mark
But with a run of 14 games without a single victory in the last four months, the big question is where Tottenham will find an extra ten points.
With six games left, Spurs need three wins and at least a draw to guarantee themselves 40 points for the season.
In their final six, Tottenham have tough games coming up, including matches against Brighton and Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton.

Simply put, the games against Wolves and Leeds United are must-wins, which should give Spurs six points if they get wins on the board.
They must then find a way to get one more win in the games against Brighton, Everton, Aston Villa and Chelsea.
If they manage a win against Brighton and then a draw against Everton, that seals their fate and could guarantee them safety.
But if they pick up four draws after beating Wolves and Leeds, that will also see them secure 11 points in their final games of the season.
