When Dejan Kulusevski is now expected to return for Tottenham in latest injury update

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham fans will not be seeing Dejan Kulusevski out on the pitch in a Spurs shirt anytime soon as the attacking midfielder continues his rehabilitation from injury.

Kulusevski has been out since the start of May with a knee injury, and Thomas Frank is still waiting to get his first look at the Swede on the training pitch.

At the start of last month, it was reported that Kulusevski would only miss the first month of the season. However, since then, some injury experts have predicted that we might not see Kulusevski in action again in 2025.

Alasdair Gold has now shared what his sources have told him about the 25-year-old’s recovery timeframe.

How long is Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski expected to be out for?

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now said that it could take ‘months’ before we see the former Juventus man in action.

The attacking midfielder is currently rehabilitating following his patella surgery and is scheduled to return towards the end of this year.

Gold adds that barring a quicker-than-expected recovery, Kulusevski will not be back on the pitch until December.

This poses a problem for Spurs, given that James Maddison is also out with an ACL injury, but the Lilywhites have been boosted with the addition of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

Can Xavi Simons hit the ground running at Tottenham?

Thomas Frank has admitted that he is excited to work with Simons, remarking that the 22-year-old will add flair and creativity to the Tottenham side.

While the Spurs head coach said he sees the Dutchman as someone who can also play on the left, one would imagine that he would primarily operate as a number ten for the moment, at least until Kulusevski returns to action.

However, some pundits have questioned whether Simons can take Tottenham to the next level and whether the attacking midfielder improves the Spurs starting eleven.
