When Heung-min Son could return to Tottenham after the Asian Cup

Football.London have revealed that Son Heung-min could be available for Tottenham’s clash against Brighton next Saturday should South Korea fall at the semifinal stage of the Asian Cup on Tuesday.

With Senegal and Mali having been eliminated from the African Cup of Nations, Son is the only one of the three Tottenham players who is still away on international duty.

The Spurs star was the hero for the South Koreans last week as his extra-time free-kick enabled them to overcome Australia and book their place in the final four of the competition.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s side are now just two games away from creating history by taking the Asian Cup back to Korea for the first time since 1960.

When will Heung-min Son return to Tottenham?

Football.London explain that should the Taeguk Warriors lose to Jordan in Tuesday’s semifinal, Son will fly back to London in the subsequent days and will be available to play a part in the clash against Brighton.

However, should South Korea overcome the Jordanians and book their place in Saturday’s final at the Lusail Stadium, the Tottenham captain will only be back for the club’s clash against Wolves on 17 February.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though it would be beneficial for Spurs if South Korea lost on Tuesday, most Tottenham fans will want Son to progress to the final and get his hands on the Asian Cup. The forward deserves to write his name into the history books by taking the trophy back to Korea.
