When Spurs will face Brentford in the Carabao Cup semi-final

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that their Carabao Cup semi final clash against Brentford will take place.

Spurs were drawn in the final four against the Championship side with the tie being held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday 5 January with kick-off at 7.45 pm.

The Carabao Cup semi-final has traditionally been a two legged affair, although the rules have been tweaked in recent seasons.

Away goals were once used after extra time to separate both sides if the score was level after two legs.

This was scrapped when the EFL decided to remove extra time which meant that any ties that were level were decided on penalties.

This year’s Carabao Cup semi-final will consist of just one leg in order to ease fixture congestion as a result of the delayed start to the season and the ongoing Covid pandemic.

The winner of the tie will face either Manchester City or Manchester United in the final at Wembley on Sunday 25 April 2021, with a 4pm kick-off instead of the usual February date with the hope that more supporters will be allowed to attend the match (EFL).
