Many Tottenham stars are not part of the club’s pre-season tour to New Zealand and Australia, but they will link up with Roberto De Zerbi’s squad over the coming weeks.
Spurs have taken a 35-player squad to New Zealand and Australia, with many academy players making the trip Down Under.
Given that the squad had to take a 26-hour flight to Auckland, many of these youngsters got opportunities against Auckland FC, with Roberto De Zerbi choosing not to risk some of his senior stars.
The likes of Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Andy Robertson are all part of the pre-season tour despite playing in the World Cup, and we may see them make their debuts in the club’s upcoming friendlies in Australia.

When will Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, Marcos Senesi and Pedro Porro return to Tottenham pre-season training?
Tottenham had four players involved in the semifinal of the World Cup, with Pedro Porro being crowned World Cup champion with Spain, Cristian Romero and Marcos Senesi finishing runner-up, and Djed Spence securing third place with England.
With FIFA mandating a three-week break for the players after the World Cup, none of them has reported for pre-season training so far.
GiveMeSport have now claimed that Romero, Senesi, Spence and Porro will all report back to Hotspur Way on August 10.
That means that they could all be involved in the club’s final pre-season clash of the summer against Hoffenheim. However, the website does not reveal when Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Sarr will join the group.
What Roberto De Zerbi has said about Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Sarr
Spurs had said that the midfield pair had been granted ‘extended leave’ following their appearances at the World Cup.
Speaking in his press conference in New Zealand, De Zerbi revealed that Bentancur and Sarr had both been handed an extra week of rest.
That means that both players could be back at Hotspur Way next week when the squad returns to London from their pre-season tour.
