Where the 5-0 win leaves Tottenham in Group B of the Champions League

After that 7-2 embarrassment last time out in the Champions League, Spurs needed to make a big statement last night against Red Star Belgrade and that they did.

Spurs ran rampant and won the match 5-0, but it could have been double that scoreline if Tottenham were as clinical as Bayern were that night.

This was the Lilywhites’ third game in the group stage this season and they already have three more points than they did at this stage of their final-reaching campaign last year.

After a 2-2 draw away to Olympiacos, the loss to Bayern, and the 5-0 victory last night, Tottenham now sit second in Group B with four points.

Bayern are still top after having secured three wins out of three, while Red Star are just one point below Spurs and Olympiacos sit bottom on the one point.

Up next for Spurs is their away leg against Red Star Belgrade over in Serbia.
