‘Which was disappointing’ – Harry Kane reacts to dropped points at home

Harry Kane has taken to social media to admit his disappointment at England failing to hit their usual standards against Hungary.

After putting out a largely second-string side against Andorra, Gareth Southgate reverted to full strength yesterday for the clash against the Hungarians, with Kane leading the side out once again.

However, many of England’s attackers, including Kane, had an off-day as the away side held on to a 1-1 draw at Wembley.

The Tottenham striker failed to get on the scoresheet and was replaced by Tammy Abraham with 15 minutes left on the clock.

Speaking after the game, Roy Keane admitted that the striker did not look up to speed while Ian Wright suggested that the 28-year-old looked lacking in mental sharpness (ITV via The Daily Mirror).

Kane has now taken to Instagram to admit that the Three Lions fell short of the standards they have set over the last few years.

Here’s what the Tottenham man posted after the 1-1 draw:

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Kane has started the season sluggishly, there was always going to be a lot of eyes on him yesterday. So, the extreme reaction to the striker’s lacklustre display does not surprise me. Hopefully, Kane uses that as extra motivation to find the back of the net against Newcastle United on Sunday.
