‘Who does not like it?’ – Real Madrid man reacts to being linked with Tottenham

Rumoured Tottenham target, Achraf Hakimi, has spoken out about his future and admitted that he is proud to be linked with big clubs across Europe.

The Real Madrid star has put in several dazzling displays in his two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, which will come to an end this summer.

His performances have reportedly caught the attention of several clubs across Europe including London trio Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal according to Baldi.net.

The report revealed that the young defender doesn’t want to warm the bench at Madrid and is, therefore, considering his options.

The Moroccan international has now opened up on his future plans in an interview with CadenaSer (as relayed by Goal).

Hakimi revealed that he was proud of what he had achieved at the Westfalenstadion and to be linked with top clubs but admitted that he is yet to make a decision on his future.

When asked about being linked with the likes of Spurs and Arsenal, the right-back said: “Who does not like it? I am proud of what I am doing.

“In June I will have to make a decision and it will be a great step for my career. In theory, my contract ends in June and from there I have to return to Madrid.

“I have not yet had contact with Madrid on this matter, but I imagine that soon we will have some conversation to find out what is best for me.

“I don’t know when my contract ends, that subject is taken by my agent. It is the same contract that I signed in 2017.”

Hakimi would be a fantastic coup if we can pull it off but I don’t believe the club will be tempted to spend big money on him when there are cheaper options like Max Aarons and Thomas Meunier available. Additionally, Hakimi is almost too similar to Aurier in his profile, as he too can be a threat going forward but suffers from lapses of concentration defensively. So, while I think he would be a great addition, I don’t expect Spurs to go in for him.
