Tottenham left it late on deadline day in summer 2025, but brought in French forward Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.

Muani had previously been a target for Spurs in the 2025 winter window but, instead of moving to north London under former boss Ange Postecoglou, he chose Juventus as his destination, seeking regular minutes in Serie A.

Tottenham Hotspur did get their man a few months later, though, when the loan signing of Kolo Muani rounded off their summer dealings.

So, was he worth the wait? Here’s everything you need to know about his time at Spurs.

An unsuccessful loan spell: Kolo Muani at Spurs

2025/26 was a difficult season for everyone of a Tottenham Hotspur persuasion, with Randal Kolo Muani no different.

In the Premier League, he scored just once in 30 appearances and even that was hardly a treasured memory. It came in a 4-1 home defeat to arch rivals Arsenal.

He fared a little better in Tottenham’s Champions league campaign, scoring four goals in nine appearances. That included a brace against his parent club, Paris Saint-Germain.

He finished the season with five goals and four assists across 34 matches, enduring several injuries along the way. That included a fractured jaw after a collision with Harry Maguire, leading to him having to wear a specialised mask for a short period.

Tottenham did survive, but opted not to retain Kolo Muani who ended up returning to Juventus on a permanent transfer in the summer of 2026.

Randal Kolo Muani nationality

Kolo Muani holds dual nationality, being both French and Congolese. He obtained French nationality on 3 September 2008 through his parents’ naturalisation.

The forward represents the France national team and has earned over 30 caps to date, including a call-up for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In 2024, he finished the year as France’s top scorer with six goals. In 2026, however, he missed out on going to the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Randal Kolo Muani position and style of play

Although primarily a centre-forward, Kolo Muani is also comfortable playing on either flank, operating as both a right winger and a left winger when required.

Kolo Muani is a forward who thrives on his technical ability, with dribbling, key passes, and finishing standing out as his strongest attributes, although his tendency to lose possession and limited defensive work remain areas for improvement.

He is particularly effective when running at defenders, drawing fouls in dangerous areas, and linking play through sharp lay-offs and short passes, which makes him an asset in fluid attacking systems that rely on movement and interchange.
