The Sun have reported that Spurs are lining up a January move for exciting Middlesbrough prospect Nathan Wood. There are a number of clubs in for the centre-back including Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal.

Reportedly Burnley made a nine million offer for the prospect in the summer but were turned down. Clearly Spurs would need to spend decent money to land the relatively unproven player.

Age: 17

Born: May 2002 in Ingleby Barwick, Teesside

Club: Middlesborough

Position: Centre-back

Former clubs: Came through the academy at Middlesborough

Stand out attributes: Pace and defending

Debut: His professional debut came in August 2018 for Boro in the EFL Cup

England: Represented his country up to U-18 level

Spurs Web Opinion

The links with Wood are tenuous and he is still a long way off the first-team level at Spurs, however, he appears to have all the physical attributes to succeed at the top level so could be a good signing for the future. He would also help with the home-grown player quota.
