Who Mark Lawrenson thinks will win between Crystal Palace and Tottenham

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has given his prediction on who he thinks will win between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

Both sides meet in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening in a what is always a tense affair.

Tottenham go into the match having won their last three matches in all competitions and will be looking for another victory to keep the pressure on the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Crystal Palace are without a win in their last six Premier League matches, but always pose a threat when they have a match winner like Wilfried Zaha in their side.

Mauricio Pochettino will be without some of his more experienced players for the London derby with Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose. However, there is some positive news after the midfield pair of Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier have both returned to training this week.

Lawrenson believes that the points will be shared at Selhurst Park.

He told BBC Sport Online: “With two points from five games this season, Crystal Palace have the worst home record in the Premier League – even worse than Southampton’s.

“But the Eagles showed what they are capable of with their 2-2 draw against Arsenal the last time they played at Selhurst Park, and I am expecting something similar on Saturday.

“This is another London derby, and they are almost always tight. Also, Tottenham have had lots of games recently – on some iffy pitches – which won’t help them either.

“Lawro’s prediction: 1-1.”
