Who will start the CL final for Spurs? – Pochettino didn’t know yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur take on Liverpool this evening in their first ever Champions League final, with the all-Premier-League affair set for an 8 pm kick-off in Madrid.

All the talk has been about whether Harry Kane will start the match, will Harry Winks make the starting XI, is Jan Vertonghen fit to start?

There are a lot of question marks over Spurs starting XI, as well as the formation Pochettino will opt for. It all depends on whether he starts Kane, goes for Lucas and Son, or throws in a complete wildcard.

However, we may as well stop predicting what the Argentine gaffer will do, as he has already admitted that he doesn’t know himself.

Tottenham still had one training session to go when Pochettino spoke last night in his press conference, and he claimed he would make a decision after that (Football London).

When asked if he had decided on the team yet, he replied “No.”

When asked if he had told the players yet, he replied “No.”

When asked if Harry Kane would start, he said “As I told you before, they do not know.”

Finally, he elaborated and added “Yes, but we still have one training session now and then we are going to decide.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Who knows if Pochettino was telling the truth or not. I get the feeling that some players surely would have been told already if they are playing. You would think that certain stars would have been drilled on certain things if they are to play from the start. Either way, we trust Poch to make the right decision.
