While Tottenham have been busy addressing their issues in central midfield so far this summer, they might need to sign a striker before the window closes or they could be left without a back up for Harry Kane.
Fernando Llorente, who did well called upon last season has seen his contract with the club come to an end but The Telegraph reported a few days ago that Spurs haven’t ruled out the possibility of offering the Spaniard a new deal.
Some Spurs fans on social media have now urged the club to bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa. The 30-year-old who scored only 5 goals in 21 matches (according to Football Espana), is said to be interesting both Everton and Wolves (The Sun).
The former Chelsea striker was prolific in the three seasons he spent in the Premier League. Some Tottenham fans were insistent that the Costa would be an improvement on Llorente, while some others didn’t want him due his reported off-field issues.
Why aren’t @SpursOfficial in for Diego Costa. Upgrade on Llorente and would add a dimension to our attack that we miss. Imagine Costa coming on at 75mins against our biggest rivals #THFC #COYS

@JimWhite why is no one talking about Diego Costa to Tottenham as back up to Kane?!! We are in desperate need of a back up striker and he has proven himself on the biggest stage and WE HAVE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL. In regards to his attitude, Poch would be able to sort him out.

@talkSPORT @JimWhite Diego Costa I would welcome him at spurs with open arms! Dont think he has the legs to play every game and what a way to keep harry kane on his toes, could really give our team that extra edge!
Go get him levy!!! COYS— Mark West (@MWesty1980) July 11, 2019

Why would Tottenham be interested in Diego Costa?? Wouldn't improve our club.
Could do a job for a mid table team like West Ham though.— The Boxing Mad Man (@TheBoxingMadMan) July 11, 2019

Spurs Web Opinion
Pochettino has built a happy camp at Tottenham and it is unlikely he would want to disrupt that by bringing in someone like Diego Costa. With Dele, Lucas and Son all capable of filling in, Spurs might decide not to sign a striker this summer.
