Why Tottenham fans should be optimistic regarding Giovani Lo Celso’s injury

It was all going so well for Giovani Lo Celso in North London this summer. The Argentine secured his move to Spurs on loan back on deadline day and has been eased into the squad ever since.

Pochettino is never one to throw his players in at the deep end, with Lucas Moura also underdoing a period of ‘bedding in’ when he moved from PSG.

The gaffer handed Lo Celso minutes in big games such as Man City and Arsenal away, while also giving him the chance to impress when Spurs needed a goal desperately against Newcastle.

Lo Celso was the one to thread the ball through to Harry Kane in what should have been a late penalty incident against the Magpies.

However, after sustaining a knock on international duty for Argentina, Lo Celso is now expected to be out until late October (Tottenham).

Some Spurs fans may be worrying that they have another Erik Lamela on their hands, but Football London have put these minds at rest.

They claim that TransferMarkt research reveals Lo Celso has actually never had an injury spell before in his entire career, so the signs for the future are bright.

Let’s hope this is just an anomaly.

Spurs Web Opinion:

While the injury to Lo Celso is annoying, at least it came at the start of his Spurs career when he wasn’t in full flow. Spurs currently have a lot of cover in that creative position in Eriksen, Alli, Lamela, and co, so this shouldn’t be a huge loss. However, we want to see him get up and running as soon as possible.
