‘Will always be my boys’ – Mourinho sends message to John Terry after Spurs win

Jose Mourinho took to social media to reveal that he is proud of his players after they showed plenty of fight to come away with a 2-0 win at Villa Park last night.

Mourinho was under a lot of pressure going into the clash yesterday, with reports suggesting that his future at Tottenham was in major doubt following the club’s elimination from the Europa League on Thursday.

The Spurs boss looked a beaten man after his side were humiliated by Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday and it was claimed that he could be sacked if the Lilywhites do not manage to secure a top-four finish.

Spurs hopes of qualifying for the Champions League received a big boost yesterday as they climbed to within three points of Chelsea in fourth.

The Tottenham boss made several changes to the side from Thursday and the likes of Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga certainly delivered for the Portuguese coach.

The performance showed that Spurs still have plenty of fight in them this season and Mourinho was pleased with his team’s display.

The 58-year-old also expressed his delight at being able to catch up with John Terry, who is part of Dean Smith’s coaching staff at Villa.

The one thing that was evident from the players’ performance yesterday was that Mourinho has not lost the dressing room. Whether or not one thinks he is the man to take us forward, the players certainly demonstrated that they were ready to fight for him.

However, a top-four finish still looks quite difficult given the form Chelsea are in and I do not expect Jose to be at the club next season should we fail to qualify for the Champions League.
