Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will today announce Manor Solomon as the club’s latest signing of the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old underwent a medical with the Premier League side yesterday and will join as a free agent due to a Fifa rule allowing Ukraine-based players to suspend their contracts.
Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham from Shakhtar Donetsk, where he scored five times in 24 appearances in an injury-hit campaign which saw him miss three months before the World Cup after suffering a serious knee injury on the opening day of the season and Cottagers had been keen to keep him on a permanent basis (Evening Standard).
The Israeli international will become Tottenham’s fifth signing of the summer following winger Dejan Kulusevski, defender Pedro Porro, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and midfielder James Maddison.

Tottenham to announce signing of Manor Solomon
Solomon will now move to Spurs on a free transfer despite his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk not expiring until December.
Current FIFA rules allow any player who is under contract at a Ukrainian club to extend their deals for a further year. The clause known as Annex 7 means that Solomon can extend his deal past its current contract expiry date of December 31 at his next club.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Documents are signed, contract sealed, medical done on Monday as expected.
“Manor Solomon will be unveiled as new Tottenham player later today.”

Shakhtar president Sergei Palkin revealed last week that he is hoping to “find a solution” with Tottenham.
The Ukrainian side are set to face the North Londoners in a pre-season friendly on August 6 and Palkin has confirmed that he hopes to “have a meeting” with the Premier League club as they “simply cannot afford to lose” Solomon for nothing.
“Tottenham is an established, respected club with a big history and a huge number of fans around the globe,” Palkin told The Athletic.
“We are sure Tottenham executives understand that Shakhtar invested significant money in the Solomon transfer, investment that Ukrainian club’s in our difficult position, simply cannot afford to lose.
“We hope we will have a meeting with Tottenham representatives on the eve of our friendly match and in good faith we will find a solution to the Manor Solomon issue. The solution should satisfy both sides.”

With Tottenham having released Lucas Moura and deciding not to take up a permanent deal for Arnaut Danjuma, they are taking a risk-free opportunity on Solomon who looks set not to cost the club a penny.
While he won’t oust any of the current attacking options in Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven, he certainly is a good option to have off the bench as witnessed during his time at Fulham.
