Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi is thrilled that Radu Dragusin has joined Tottenham Hotspur and he is convinced that the move will pave the way for the 21-year-old to evolve into one of the best in the world.
Dragusin had always been earmarked as a special talent, which is why Juventus secured him when he was just a teenager.
However, the centre-back had to move away from the Old Lady to prove himself and he really came of age over the last 18 months at Genoa, which convinced Tottenham to pay £26.7m to bring him to North London.
One can understand why Ange Postecoglou was keen on the youngster as his pace, aggressiveness and technical quality make him a good fit for Tottenham’s high line.
Dragusin’s switch to the Lilywhites is understandably making a lot of headlines in Romania, with the centre-back widely thought of as the nation’s best footballer at the minute.

Hagi, who won 124 caps for the country and later went on to manage the national team, has now given his two cents about the centre-back’s switch to Spurs.
He told TVR Info (as relayed by Sport Witness) about the move: “The transfer of Radu Dragușin was extraordinary in terms of the amounts. An amazing boy who sold very well.
“It will be fantastic if he continues the progress he is making, and if he plays a lot, he will become one of the best-rated players in Romania as a defender.”
