Will Christian Eriksen start this evening?

Tottenham Hotspur take on PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League this evening, with the North Londoners needing all three points to keep their group hopes alive.

Spurs lost their opening two games against Inter Milan and Barcelona despite playing extremely well in both matches.

Pochettino has been faced with an abundance of injury problems of late, but Mousa Dembele and Christian Eriksen both return to the squad today.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, Eriksen, has been out for a number of weeks now.

Tottenham have struggled creatively without playmakers Eriksen and Dele Alli, and many fans will be wondering whether the Great Dane will start tonight.

Pochettino addressed the media yesterday ahead of the match and gave the lowdown on Eriksen.

The gaffer did say that the midfield maestro is fit and ready to play, but whether he chooses to risk him from the start remains to be seen.

If the match wasn’t a must-win game, starting him would seem pointless, but the necessity of a win may outweigh the risk here.

Football London quoted Poch saying: “Danny Rose, Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen are still out. Christian Eriksen is fit to be selected and we’ll see tomorrow if I decide if he is to play from the start of the game or from the bench.”
