While Tottenham are struggling in front of goal in the Premier League this season, one of their former strikers is currently enjoying an impressive debut campaign in the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur are yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season after playing three halves of football.
This comes after the Lilywhites splashed the cash and bolstered their attacking line with the additions of Omar Marmoush and Savio.
The pair are set to cost Spurs £145 million, with Savio signed for £85 million and a £60 million obligation to buy Marmoush next season.
Former Tottenham striker Troy Parrott shines for Betis in Champions League
However, while the Tottenham forwards are struggling in front of goal, the same has not been true for former striker Troy Parrott.
The Real Betis man showed his quality in front of goal in the Spanish side’s Champions League clash against Lille in matchday one of the League phase.
It was a well‑taken strike from the forward, who grabbed what proved to be the winner, with his goal coming in the 53rd minute.
Parrott’s effort came after Riquelme held off a challenge in midfield before playing the ball forward to his new teammate.
The Irish striker still had plenty to do, but he surged into the area, took a touch to open out the angle, then arrowed a clinical finish into the bottom‑right corner.

Parrott’s rise continues as Spurs benefit from sell‑on clause
That goal marked the Irish striker’s first in the Champions League. He has been superb in recent years, with his top performances for AZ Alkmaar helping him secure a move to Real Betis this summer.
Last season, Parrott managed an impressive 31 goals and 12 assists in all competitions for the Dutch side.
That return saw him secure a £13.7 million move plus add‑ons totalling around £17.1 million to Betis, which triggered the profit‑share agreement from his Spurs departure in 2024.
