‘Will not sell’ – Journalist provides positive update on Harry Kane’s Spurs future

Gary Jacob from The Times has reported that Tottenham will not sell their star striker to a Premier League rival this summer, even if it means he enters the final year of his current Spurs contract.

Talks between Tottenham and Kane over a potential new deal have allegedly not taken place since the player’s failed attempt to join Man City in 2021.

However, Jacob writes that Kane’s exit from Tottenham may be more difficult these days, as Spurs have never wanted to sell him to a rival and there are few suitors to choose from.

Man United are reportedly looking at Napoli’s Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer and still have bad memories of dealing with Daniel Levy in the deal that saw Berbatov swap North London for Manchester.

The report mentions Bayern Munich and Real Madrid (if Pochettino gets the job) as potential destinations abroad for Kane, but that would jeopardise his chances of beating Alan Shearer’s record.

Finally, Gary Jacobs adds that there is no suggestion Spurs will feel the need to sell up this summer, reminding people that Christian Eriksen only left mid-season with six months left on his deal.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It does seem increasingly likely that Kane may either leave on a free or commit his future to Spurs by signing a new contract. It could all depend on whether the Lilywhites finish in the top four this season and whether they are able to lift the FA Cup.
