William Gallas reveals who is more likely to win the PL – Spurs or Arsenal

William Gallas has argued that Arsenal stand a better chance of winning the Premier League title this season, but only because they do not have Champions League football to contend with.

Spurs and Arsenal faced off at the end of last season for a place in the top four, and the top European football that comes with that achievement. And it was Conte’s Tottenham who prevailed on the final day of the campaign.

Gallas, who played for Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea during his time in the Premier League, believes the Gunners have a chance to concentrate on the title more than others.

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, with Man City and Spurs just one point behind. That means, if there is a winner from the North London Derby on Saturday, that team will be league leaders, at least for 24 hours.

When asked who has a better chance of winning the league this season, Gallas told Genting Casino: “I think Arsenal have a better opportunity to compete for the title than Tottenham because this season they aren’t playing in the Champions League, and I think they have to be focused on the title.

“I don’t know what their target is, but whether it’s top four or to win the title, I hope Arteta has told his players, ‘this season we have a good opportunity to fight for the title, so let’s do it’.

“I think that would be a great message if he said that because it can boost the players. If they win the title, that means they will qualify for the top four. So I think Arsenal have a better opportunity to fight for the title.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I really do think that if an outsider is going to win the title, like Arsenal or Spurs, then this is the year it will happen. With the World Cup, and the luck involved surrounding fatigue, injuries, and moods coming off the back of it, it really could be anyone’s to win. Having said that, Man City will always remain heavy favourites.
