Willian’s agent directly references Tottenham when talking about transfer rumours

Willian’s agent has insisted that the winger has not yet held discussions with Tottenham or any other club regarding a summer transfer.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding who the Chelsea star could sign for if his contract with the Blues is allowed to run out in the summer.

Tottenham have been installed as the favourites to snap up the Brazilian if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season (Mundo Deportivo).

The Sun recently reported that Spurs are battling it out with Arsenal for the 31-year-old’s signature, with both North London clubs said to be keen on landing Willian on a free transfer in order to save money.

The winger has already denied speculation suggesting that he has spoken with Spurs about moving to the club when his Chelsea deal runs out (Gustavo Hofman’s Youtube channel).

His agent, Kia Joorabchian has now reiterated that Willian is solely focused on finishing the season with Frank Lampard’s side.

As quoted by The Sun, Joorabchian said: “Chelsea’s policy, though, only allows two years (of contract extension), so that’s where the block was.

“At the moment he is a Chelsea player; he has a contract with Chelsea until the season is over, so I think it is disrespectful to talk about moving to other clubs.

“We have not spoken to Tottenham or any other club at the moment.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Willian is probably going to have plenty of suitors from around Europe given how valued free agents are in the current market. He could be an important squad player for us and we know that Mourinho likes him a lot. However, the question is whether Daniel Levy will agree to hand a three-year deal to a player who will be 32 when next season begins.
