Tottenham supporters will like what Wilson Odobert has told the media ahead of the Lilywhites’ Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Frenchman has not found things easy at Tottenham since his switch from Burnley in 2024, having suffered multiple injury setbacks.
In fact, some pundits had already written off Odobert as not being good enough for Spurs.
While the 20-year-old has managed to silence some of those critics with his recent performances, he is still searching for the consistency needed to be a regular in the Tottenham starting eleven.

Wilson Odobert is focused on getting back to his best at Tottenham
The winger, who came through the ranks of the PSG academy, will return to his former club for a big Champions League fixture this evening, and he reminisced on the time that he was a ball boy at the Parc de Princes in the competition.
Odobert said (via Hayters): “I remember we were holding the big UEFA flag. Now it’s so great to be able to be back as a player. It was just a dream. I now have objectives and goals. I’m not a kid anymore. I want to perform, and I really want to give as much as I can for my team.”
The youngster admitted that his injury problems have set his development back over the last 18 months, insisting that he is now focused on getting back to his best.
The Spurs man said about his form: “I’ve also been injured, unfortunately. I’ve been working very hard to get back to my level. I’m still young and I still have space for improvement, of course. I don’t set any limits for myself. I do have objectives and goals, and I will always give 100% of what I can.”
Odobert confesses he has a connection with the new Spurs teammate
Odobert and Xavi Simons played together for PSG’s youth sides as youngsters, and the duo could be lining up against their former side this evening.
The France Under-21 international and the Dutchman have shown signs of a burgeoning partnership on the left, and Odobert admitted that the connection comes naturally.
When asked if he enjoys playing with Xavi, the former Burnely man said:
“Yes, for sure. We definitely have a natural connection. It is the same with the other players, though. I’m trying to connect with everyone, but for sure with Xavi, I know him very well. It’s really natural to play together.”
