Could Spurs be on the verge of another transfer?

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has taken to X this morning to reveal that Spurs are on the verge of completing a move for Burnley’s Wilson Odobert.

It is claimed that Odobert underwent a medical at Hotspur Way yesterday with the move described as ‘very imminent’ and was not seen among the Burnley players at their training ground this morning as they prepare for the visit of Cardiff City tomorrow afternoon.

Wilson Odobert is rumoured to be on his way to Spurs

Odobert, who joined Burnley last summer from French side Troyes, was one of the club’s more impressive players despite their relegation from the Premier League.

The 19-year-old made 29 appearances for the Clarets in the Premier League last season and chipped in with three goals and three assists under former boss Vincent Kompany.

With the greatest respect to Odobert, with Tottenham having been linked with moves for the likes of Pedro Neto and Eberechi Eze, this seems like an anti-climax.

Tottenham need players who will improve their starting eleven, rather than having more squad players who are not ready to hit the ground running.

If Tottenham do not bring in two quality players before the end of the window, there is little chance of the club having a genuine chance of being title contenders.
