Winger who was heavily linked with Spurs completes move to Bundesliga club

Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur has completed a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Gray was free to talk to clubs this month since his contract the King Power Stadium had less than six months left to run.

Multiple reports over the past few months had claimed that the winger is on Tottenham’s radar.

It was suggested in the Transfer Window Podcast back in November that those at Leicester expected the wide man to join Spurs.

Turkish journalist, Ekrem Konur also previously claimed that the North Londoners were battling it out with clubs across Europe for the former Birmingham City man.

An unnamed Premier League scout told French publication Le Phoceen (via Sport Witness) at the start of January that he expected Spurs to make a move for the 24-year-old.

However, it has now been confirmed that the midfielder will be plying his trade in the Bundesliga after joining Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee.

Spurs Web Opinion

The speculation linking Tottenham with a move for Gray never made much sense given how well stoked we are in the wide areas. It was likely the winger’s agent that was putting our name out there in order to boost interest in his client and get him the best deal possible.
