Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media after the club officially confirmed the appointment of Antonio Conte as their new head coach.
The Italian has signed a contract until 2023 and replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed on Monday morning.
Nuno was removed after just 17 games in charge, having been appointed to succeed Jose Mourinho with ESPN claiming that a number of senior players had lost faith in the former Wolves boss.
Conte was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham during the summer but the club were said to have walked away from a deal over concerns over the former Chelsea manager’s transfer budget demands (Guardian).
His previous two-year stint in charge of Chelsea saw them win the Premier League title in 2016-17 and the FA Cup the following season.
Here is how some of the North London faithful have reacted to the news of the 52-year-old taking up the position.
TIME FOR THE ITALIAN SPICEEEEE 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

We’ve given everyone a four month head start just to win the league anyway. I love this club.

As much as I feel for Nuno, what an appointment this is! In disbelief.
Maybe a bit of panicking behind this, maybe it's a short-term fix, but Conte is a born winner! WOW.
You need to back him now 😅
Didn't think you'd get this over the line, MASSIVE.
Exciting times ahead 😍

Finally a show of genuine ambition and a first major step in the right direction after the dreadful sacking of Pochettino.
Give this exceptional manager what he wants, we win, it's that simple.
Welcome to the club the mighty Antonio Conte 🇮🇹 #THFC #COYS

Spurs Web Opinion:
It is not a return to the Tottenham DNA, but it is a proven winner who will get you trophies if you back him in the transfer market. Let’s see whether Levy and Paratici can give him the tools he needs over the next two seasons.
