Tottenham fans have been left excited by the Lilywhites’ second-half performance at St Mary’s earlier this afternoon after they cruised to a 5-2 win to register first points of the new Premier League season.
The home side dominated proceedings for majority of the first 45 minutes and deservedly went ahead through Danny Ings.
Hugo Lloris produced an impressive stop to keep the deficit to one goal before a moment of magic by Tanguy Ndombele just before the half-time whistle opened up the pitch for Harry Kane, who picked out Son Heung-min with a lovely cross, which the South Korean finished expertly.
That pattern repeated itself plenty of times in the second half, with the England captain dropping deep to play balls in-behind for Son, whose movement and sharp finishing saw him score four goals for the first time in his Tottenham career.
Some Spurs fans were in awe of Kane’s passing and Son’s deadly finishing, with many salivating at the prospect of Gareth Bale joining the duo in a three-pronged attack.
I am here to tell you all: Tottenham Hotspur, are indeed, winning the lot.

Probably the most complete performance from Harry Kane he's ever had. Simply incredible.

What an amazing 2nd half performance. Going to 442 was perfect tactical change. Could’ve been more too. Worrying 1st half. Brilliant 2nd. Kane was Hoddle and Son was Kane. Well done lads #COYS

When people say Kane is only a good finisher I laugh. Because it’s the most pathetic opinion of all time.
What a player. 3 good assists today. Proper assists.

Gareth Bale must be sat at home licking his lips at the thought of joining Son and Kane in Spurs’ frontline. Them three will be scary when they get going #COYS #THFC #SOUTOT

Spurs Web Opinion
The tactical tweak at half-time worked wonders as Southampton’s high defensive line just could not deal with Kane’s passing and Son’s movement. What we saw in the second half from Kane is similar to how he plays with England alongside Sterling and Sancho, and that is something we are likely to see more of once Bale is match fit.
