“With respect to Tottenham” – Leeds boss sounds warning ahead of trip to North London

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has admitted that he expects his side to face a tough test against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League newcomers are the visitors to North London tomorrow lunchtime on the back of their 5-0 win against West Bromwich Albion.

Leeds have responded well to their 6-1 thrashing at rivals Manchester United with consecutive wins against Burnley and West Brom.

Tottenham head into the encounter without a win in their last four top flight outings and will be looking to start 2021 with a victory as they look to close the gap on Liverpool after losing their place at the top of the table last month.

Bielsa has credited Jose Mourinho for the influence which he has had on the Spurs squad while also highlighting the attacking threat which they are likely to pose to his side.

The match will take place behind closed doors with London currently under Tier 4 coronavirus restrictions.

He told The Independent: “With respect to Tottenham and the way they’re playing, they’re a very difficult team to face,”

“In every position they have solid, good players, they have options, they have strikers who can unbalance and they’re very clear on how they want to play.

“It’s a team in which you can clearly see the influence of the manager, they’re very competitive.”
