Wolfsberger post funny message on social media after drawing Spurs in Europa League

It is fair to say that most Spurs fans may not have heard a lot about Wolfsberger before Tottenham were drawn against the Austrian side in the Europa League round of 32 on Monday.

Jose Mourinho would have been pretty pleased with the draw given some of the other teams the Lilywhites could have potentially faced in the next round.

Wolfsberger have been in the Austrian second division for the majority of their existence and have only become a force in the country over the last decade.

This is just their second-ever European campaign and Tottenham thus go into the tie as overwhelming favourites.

Wolfsberger have played on the fact that Mourinho and his squad would not know much about them by posting a meme on social media in which the Tottenham boss is seen asking his players where the club is based.

They used Mourinho’s Instagram post after Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Burnley for the joke.

Mourinho will certainly be pleased with this draw as it affords him the opportunity to potentially rest some players at a crucial time in Tottenham’s season. However, the one issue with drawing relative unknowns like this is that this will be the biggest game Wolfsberger have had in their recent history and so they will be their players will be much more motivated than ours.
