Wolfsberger send classy Tweet to Tottenham after 8-1 aggregate defeat

Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the last sixteen of the Europa League yesterday evening with a comfortable victory against Wolfsberger.

Goals from Dele Alli, Gareth Bale and a brace from Carlos Vinicius secured a 4-0 win on the night to complete an emphatic 8-1 aggregate scoreline.

The Austrian side showed their class after the match when they took to Twitter to thank Tottenham for the experience of facing off against them while also making the claim that Jose Mourinho’s side will go on to lift the trophy.

It is the first time since the 2015-16 campaign that Spurs are into the final sixteen when they were eliminated by Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund.
