Jonathan Woodgate has expressed his pleasure at returning to the first-team after coming on against AC Milan.
Woodgate was introduced after a sickening challenge by Arsenal reject Mathieu Flamini saw Vedran Corluka stretchered off.
Woodgate played the final half hour in the centre of defence, with William Gallas switching to full-back, and saw Spurs seal a memorable victory in the San Siro.
Woodgate had been sidelined for over a year with a groin injury that threatened his career, but admitted it felt amazing to be back on the pitch again.
“It was a great feeling to get back.
“A lot of people doubted whether I could get back, but you have got to show the determination to not let the bad times get you down.”
