‘Work to be done’ – Nuno Espirito Santo opens up on Spurs transfers this summer

Tottenham’s new head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, has revealed that he has been talking with Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen on a daily basis since joining the North London club.

Paratici also joined Spurs this summer as the club’s new managing director of football and the trio, along with Daniel Levy, will be searching for some new players this summer.

Nuno claimed that it was difficult for Tottenham to improve on the quality they already have at the club, but added that there is work to be done in the transfer market.

He also hinted that Paratici and Hitchen would be leading the transfer market situation this summer, with Nuno concentrating on getting the players in shape on the pitch.

The Portuguese coach was speaking in his very first press conference ahead of Spurs’ pre-season opener against Leyton Orient this weekend.

He said (Football London): “We’ve been talking. Me, Fabio [Paratici] and Steve [Hitchen].

“We’re aware there’s a lot of work to be done. It’s hard work to improve the quality we have. We need to find the right players.

“On a daily basis we talk. Fabio and Steve, they do their job in the market. I do mine.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I have every faith that Paratici will bring in the exact number of players he wants this summer. He puts his eggs across multiple baskets and plays it safe in that respect. It will mainly come down to sales this summer in terms of the money available to spend.
