‘Worked a lot in training’ – Kane reveals area of his game he was perfecting pre-Everton

Harry Kane has taken to Instagram to explain that he has been practising taking penalty kicks in training after failing to convert from the spot against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kane has been one of the most reliable players in the world when it comes to converting penalties over recent years but the striker has already missed two spot-kicks so far this season.

The second of those came in Tottenham’s 3-2 win over Frankfurt on Wednesday when the England captain uncharacteristically blasted the ball over the bar from 12 yards in stoppage time.

The pressure was on the Spurs star when he stepped up to take a penalty against England teammate Jordan Pickford after he was fouled by the Everton goalkeeper, however, the 29-year-old kept his nerve to find the corner to give his side the lead.

The striker took to Instagram after the game to express his delight at converting the penalty and at Spurs continuing their winning run at home against the Toffees.
