‘Working very hard’ – Nuno asked whether Spurs could sign more players

Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen are both working very hard in the summer transfer window when asked whether Spurs would be looking to sign any more players.

Tottenham have already welcomed three new first-team additions to their ranks in North London, with Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero joining from Atalanta, and Bryan Gil signing from Sevilla.

In terms of outgoings, Spurs have also been busy with Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga leaving on free transfers, Toby Alderweireld, Juan Foyth and Joe Hart being sold and Erik Lamela leaving as a part of the deal to sign Gil.

When asked about possible new additions, Nuno claimed the squad needed balance as well as talent, while adding that Spurs need to be accurate with any new incoming players.

While the head coach did not give away any names or even positions, he did not rule out any new signings either.

Nuno said: “The squad needs balance, we have a very talented squad but it needs to be balanced. We know, everybody knows, Fabio and Stevie are working very hard but, like I say, it’s always hard to improve something that is good.

“We have to be really really accurate on the players that we bring in because it has to bring things that we believe can make us better and stronger. And it’s not easy because we have quality players with us.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

If I had to guess how many new signings there would be for Spurs over the next two weeks or so, it would be three. I still think we will be signing a new defender, a new midfielder, and a new striker.
