World famous data analyst predicts Tottenham and Liverpool’s chances of winning the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur look set to secure a top four finish in the Premier League yet again this season, but all eyes will be on a far bigger goal, the Champions League.

Spurs have already made club history by making their first ever semi-final in the competition, but Pochettino and his squad will be hungry to put their names in the history books of the entire Champions League too.

The Lilywhites face Ajax next week in the first leg of the semi-final, as both clubs bid for the chance to play Liverpool or Barcelona in the next round.

World famous data analyst, Nate Silver, was named as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world after predicting the outcomes of two US elections.

However, his background is actually in sport stats, and he has created a model to predict the Champions League winners via his website Five Thirty Eight.

Liverpool come in as favourites with a 36% chance of winning and a 52% chance of making the final.

Barcelona have a 32% chance of winning the overall competition, and a 48% chance of reaching the final.

Nate’s model couldn’t call it between Ajax and Spurs though, with both having a 16% chance of winning the trophy, and a 50% chance of making the final.
