Worrying sign as Tottenham player admits that the club are now in a crisis

Tottenham Hotspur are now in a crisis, at least those are the words of Spurs defensive midfielder, Eric Dier.

Dier made his return to the starting line-up in the Premier League against Brighton this weekend, with Spurs falling to yet another defeat on the road.

Eric started the match in centre-midfield, before dropping back into a three-man defence in the second half to push the wing-backs on.

However, the England man found it difficult to regain his touch, class, and composure after repeated spells on the sidelines through illness and injury over the past year.

Tottenham collapsed to a 3-0 defeat on the South Coast, as well as having their captain, Hugo Lloris, sent to hospital after he dislocated his elbow in the opening minutes.

That makes it just three wins in eleven games for Mauricio Pochettino’s men so far this season in all competitions, with things looking bleak in the Premier League and Champions League, as well as being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two outfit Colchester United.

Eric Dier has now admitted that the club is in a crisis (Mirror): “We are obviously going through a difficult period. Is saying it’s a crisis a bit too strong? No.

“If you lose like we’ve lost in these last two games, it’s normal. For us, this is the worst period we’ve been in, but we have to be all together and push through it.

“The stuff about the squad, I know that’s not the case. But it’s natural these things will come up now because of the situation we find ourselves in.

“It’s the first time that we’ve found ourselves in this position, we can’t back down from it. We’ve got to push through it.”
