‘Worrying’ – Tottenham starlet picks up injury on international duty

Aftonbladet have revealed that there has been a worrying development with Lucas Bergvall, who picked up an injury on international duty this week.

Tottenham signed Bergvall in January and loaned the midfielder back to Djurgardens and the 18-year-old has made an impressive start to the new Allsvenskan campaign.

The teenager will link up with Ange Postecoglou’s start ahead of the start of next season and it has been reported by some outlets that he is expected to be handed a prominent first-team role at the North London club (Football Insider).

Injury scare for Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall

Aftonbladet have now provided some bad news on Bergvall, revealing that the midfielder picked up an injury while featuring for Sweden’s Under-21 side this week.

Sweden emerged 2-0 winners over North Macedonia and the on-loan Tottenham man started the game but came off just after the hour mark.

The report explains that Mihail Dimitrievski stamped on Bergvall’s foot, with the youngster appearing to be in pain and limping off the pitch.

It seems like the extent of the damage is unclear at the moment but the outlet points out that Spurs will be enquiring and receiving updates about any tests that might take place over the coming days.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham will want Bergvall to be sharp when he arrives for pre-season and they would ideally want him to get regular football under his belt over the next couple of months. They will be hoping this turns out to be a minor knock rather than a major issue.
