‘Wow proper player’ – Graham Roberts singles out trio after win over Aston Villa

Graham Roberts has singled three players out for praise after watching Tottenham Hotspur beat Aston Villa.

Nuno Espirito Santo made three changes from the side which lost 3-1 at Arsenal last weekend with Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp all coming into the starting eleven.

The Portuguese’s decision to shuffle his pack appeared to pay off with Roberts praising Emerson and Romero’s efforts during the 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Romero, who partnered Eric Dier at the heart of the defence was solid at the back and arguably saved his side a goal with a brilliant block just minutes into the second half.

Emerson was a constant threat down the right-hand side of the pitch looking comfortable in attack as well as in defence and can consider himself unlucky not to have scored his first goal for the club when he saw his effort cleared off the line.

Heung-min Son was Tottenham’s hero despite not getting on the scoresheet, the South Korean provided the assist for both goals and continues to step up when his side need him.
