Tottenham fans will love what Xavi Simons has said on social media after the club’s win at Elland Road on Saturday.
Spurs’ record leading into international breaks has been shocking over recent years, and the team was going through a mini-slump ahead of their trip to Yorkshire.
The signs were not thus promising for the Lilywhites, and not many pundits were confident that Tottenham were going to win at Elland Road.
However, the North London side delivered another counter-attacking masterclass away from home, which has become the norm under Thomas Frank.
Had they been more clinical in the final third, they could have walked away with an even more handsome win than the 2-1 scoreline they emerged with.

Xavi Simons reacts after spearheading Tottenham to win at Leeds
The Dutchman started centrally on Saturday, as opposed to left-wing, and Xavi Simons showed why he prefers playing as the number ten.
Most of Tottenham’s counter-attacks came through the 22-year-old, with Frank insisting that Xavi delivered his best performance of the season against Leeds.
The Netherlands international has now taken to Instagram to assure Spurs fans that the team will be back stronger after the international break.
He wrote: ‘Crucial. We’ll be back stronger after the break.’
One Spurs star is bullish on what Xavi will deliver
There were a few rumblings about Xavi’s form over the last couple of weeks, with the attacking midfielder not hitting the ground running at N17 in the manner he would have hoped for.
However, his international teammate, Micky van de Ven, is confident that Xavi will do special things in a Tottenham shirt, remarking that his creativity is there for everyone to see.
On the evidence of his performance on Saturday, one can certainly understand why Van de Ven is so bullish, with the former Leipzig man possessing the kind of natural creative spark that no one can teach.
