Xavi Simons has revealed there is one player at Tottenham Hotspur who has surprised him a lot, and it is someone who still has a lot of growing to do.
A number of months have passed since Xavi Simons made his move from RB Leipzig to Tottenham Hotspur, and his time in North London has been mixed up to this point.
The Dutchman began playing on the left wing, which clearly did not suit his style, but he has looked much more creative as an attacking midfielder.
Whether Simons will have been pleased with his first season at Spurs by the end of May remains to be seen. However, there is one player at the club who the 22-year-old believes has played very well, and he has even surprised Simons with his quality.

Xavi Simons has been pleasantly surprised by Archie Gray at Tottenham
Archie Gray is the player whom Simons has been most surprised by, with the teenager continuing to step up for Spurs when he is needed.
Last season saw Gray play mainly as a centre-back, and this year he has mostly featured in midfield, while also covering at both left-back and right-back.
Simons told Pro Direct Soccer: “The Tottenham team-mate who surprised me? Archie Gray. I really like how he plays, and I think he is going to be a really good midfielder.”
When asked about who was the best trainer, the midfield maestro added: “Archie Gray”.
Gray has been getting goal contributions recently
Tottenham fans know Gray is a talented player, and he has shown his defensive capabilities, but it is worth remembering he also has an attacking side to his game.
The England under-21s international scored a header against Crystal Palace in December and got himself another against Newcastle last month.
Gray also bagged his first Premier League assist of the season against Fulham last Sunday, with a brilliant cross which met the head of Richarlison.
In time, the 19-year-old could go on to be a special player for Spurs who adds quality across every area of the pitch.
