Xavi Simons has been very impressed by two Tottenham Hotspur starlets who have both made their first-team debuts this season.
Tottenham Hotspur are having a season to forget, but relegation to the Championship could live in the memories of their supporters forever, for all the wrong reasons.
However, this is not guaranteed, and there have been a few positives, including Spurs finishing in the league phase top eight in the Champions League.
The youth set-up is another area to take encouragement from, with two academy players making their first-team debuts this season.

Xavi Simons names his two Tottenham youngsters to keep an eye on
Lucas Williams-Barnett made his Spurs senior debut against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup, while Jun’ai Byfield followed in the 17-year-old’s footsteps a few months later.
The defender has made two Champions League appearances as well as a brief cameo in the Premier League, while Williams-Barnett has played just once.
However, both have been impressive in Premier League 2, which has led to Xavi Simons naming the pair as two players to watch in the future.
When asked if there was one young baller to keep an eye on, the Dutchman told Pro Direct Soccer: “I have two from Tottenham – Luca Williams-Barnett and Jun’ai Byfield.”
Luca Williams-Barnett has run riot in the Spurs youth teams
Byfield could become an important player at the heart of Tottenham’s defence one day, and Williams-Barnett is arguably even more exciting.
The attacking midfielder has bagged six goals and five assists in 10 Premier League 2 appearances this season. His seven goals and two assists in the UEFA Youth League are pretty impressive, too, and it has left Spurs fans wondering why he has not played for the senior team more often.
Both players definitely look likely to have bright futures ahead of them, and it will be interesting to see whether they will be given proper chances at Tottenham before the end of the campaign.
