Xavi Simons reveals how he is settling in at Tottenham after £51m summer transfer

Xavi Simons has already made a sharp impression since joining Tottenham, and the Netherlands international has now opened up on just how seamless life in north London has been so far.

Tottenham Hotspur made more than six signings this summer, including Kevin Danso, whose permanent deal was finalised in July.

The club’s transfer activity under Thomas Frank has been busy, with a clear focus on adding both depth and immediate quality.

Every new face has managed to catch the eye, with Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons already racking up a couple of starts and showing they can fit into Frank’s system.

But not every arrival has had the same impact yet, with Randal Kolo Muani and Kota Takai still working their way to full match sharpness, but there is little doubt that Tottenham’s squad looks far stronger than it did a few months ago.

Xavi Simons reveals how quickly he has settled at Tottenham

Xavi Simons has already made his Premier League debut, and that was quickly followed by a Champions League bow for Tottenham, underlining how swiftly he has adapted to life in north London.

Speaking to Hayters, Simons has now revealed that communication has not been a barrier at all, given his ability to speak several languages, which has made it far easier for him to connect with teammates both on and off the pitch.

He explained: “Yes, of course, but everyone as well, really good group. I can speak many languages. So for me it is really easy to adapt into a group, and everyone is really happy that I am here, so yes.”

Spurs signing Kota Takai on learning English with Richarlison

While Xavi Simons has not found adapting to English too difficult, it has been a different experience for Kota Takai, who has also had to deal with a foot injury that has delayed his debut.

The Japan international is closing in on a return, but he has still found ways to connect with his new squad.

Takai has also spoken about his early days in England, revealing that it is Richarlison who has surprisingly taken on the role of helping him improve his English. The 20-year-old said: “Richarlison. He was the first one to come and talk to me. He is my English teacher.”
