Yaya Toure’s agent opens up on future plans amidst coaching with Tottenham

Yaya Toure’s agent has claimed the former Manchester City midfielder, who is now working with the Tottenham academy, will soon be at the helm of a good side.

Since hanging up his boots last year, Toura has spent time working towards his badges with QPR, Blackburn and the Welsh FA before serving as an assistant coach at Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk and Russian club Akhmat Grozny.

It emerged at the start of the month that the former City star landed a role with the Spurs academy as he continues to work towards his UEFA A-License.

Tottenham coach Sam Cox has raved about the impact Toure has had at the club, admitting that the Premier League legend has given some valuable words of advice to the youngsters in the club’s academy.

Mikel Arteta, who worked with Toure at City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, has opened the door for the 38-year-old to help with the coaching set-up at Arsenal.

Toure’s agent Dmitry Selyuk has admitted that his client’s experiences as an assistant coach in Russia proved valuable and backed him to soon be given the reigns of a top club.

Selyuk told Sport24: “Yaya is leaving Akhmat and will continue his studies and his career in England.

“Many thanks to the president and the management of Akhmat for giving Yaya the opportunity to plunge himself into the world of coaching, share ideas and learn something for himself.

“Yaya is glad that he was at Akhmat. And I think his advice and personal participation in training, in individual work with (Mohamed) Konate and (Senin) Sebai are giving results.

“We see Mohamed progressing and scoring goals. I am sure that Yaya will achieve great results in his work, as he loves football and is ready to work 24 hours a day.

“No wonder (Mikel) Arteta recently said in an interview that the doors of Arsenal are always open for him.

“Yaya now works at Tottenham. I think that soon after receiving the (UEFA A coaching) license we will see him at the helm of a good team.”
