Year-on-year performance changes in the Prem – Spurs maintaining high standards?

Tottenham Hotspur have stalled in the Premier League of late, taking just one point from their last possible twelve.

This included defeats against Burnley, Chelsea, and Southampton, as well as a 1-1 draw at home in the North London Derby against Arsenal.

Just a couple of weeks ago Tottenham were flying in the Prem, and had the chance to go just two points behind the then League leaders Liverpool.

However, after a gut-wrenching defeat to Burnley, the wheels appear to have come off Tottenham’s season as they now fight it out to retain a Champions League spot for next year.

However disappointed fans must be, the statistics actually show that Spurs are maintaining a pretty high standard overall.

With no money spent in over a year, Tottenham are still keeping up the same points tally as they had this time last season.

Man United and Man City are both seven points off the pace of their points hauls at this point last campaign.

Liverpool are the biggest growers out of the top six, picking up an extra 13 points, with Arsenal boasting 12 extra, and Chelsea 4.
