‘You don’t realise’ – Roy Keane shares what he has heard about Spurs star

Roy Keane has raved about Harry Kane’s finish for his first goal in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace and revealed that those who have worked with the Spurs star have praised the strength he possesses.

Kane was the star of the show on Sunday as he set up two goals for Gareth Bale before getting on the act himself with a brace.

His first goal, in particular, was one of the best strikers of the season so far as the England captain stroked Matt Doherty’s cut-back into the top corner from a difficult angle, giving Vicente Guaita in the Palace goal no chance.

Kane’s second goal on Sunday was set up by Son Heung-min, the 14th time the pair have combined to find the back of the net this campaign – a Premier League record, overtaking the 13 goal combinations that former Blackburn duo Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton notched up in the 1994/95 campaign.

That goal also meant that the 27-year-old is only the third player in Premier League history to score more than 25 goals with his head, left foot and right foot, after Andy Cole and Robbie Fowler.

Speaking about Kane’s performance, Keane said on Sky Sports’s Premier League TV channel (7/3): “There are not many players in world football who can do what he has just done there, Kane.

“It’s driven back to him. I am thinking he might have to take a touch, but the technique, again the power in that shot, the accuracy, again only a few players in world football could do what he has just done there.

“I don’t think we realise, obviously we are watching it on the TV screen, but you know, when you speak to people who work in football, who work closely with him, they say you don’t realise how strong and powerful the lad is, when you work up closely with him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans have been aware for a long time that Kane is the most well-rounded forward in world football and it looks like the world has finally woken up to that fact this season. The only thing that the striker lacks is blistering pace but he more than makes up for that with his speed of thought.
